Recording Section |
The Land Records/Vital Statistics Department of the County Clerk's office is where all real property information is filed including Deeds, Brands, Military Discharge DD-214's, Plats and Assumed Name/DBA Certificates and U.S. Passport Applications/Photos. Vital Statistics Recording including marriage licenses, birth and death records. Located at 2 N. Main St. in the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Cleburne. Hand-carried Recording will be accepted in Plat Room B18 located in the South hallway at the basement level or across the hallway in our Deed Room B15.
Our Passport Office in Cleburne is now located in Room 131 at the Historic Courthouse at 2 N. Main St. in Downtown Cleburne. Passports Applications are also accepted at the Burleson Sub-Courthouse located at 247 Elk Dr. Room 103 in Burleson (across from the High School).
***ALL LIVESTOCK BRANDS & MARKS EXPIRED AUGUST 30th 2011*** All Texas livestock brands & marks, whether old or new, must be re-registered every ten years in the county or counties where the livestock are located. Re-registration period runs from August 31, 2011 through February 29, 2012. If you don't re-register your brand during that time period, then your brand becomes available to anyone who may want it. It is against the law to use a brand that isn't registered. You may register your brand in person in Room B18 Plat Room (basement level) of the Historic Courthouse. Court Section |
All cases heard by the County Court At Law No. 1 and County Court At Law No. 2 originate with the County Clerk - Court Section. The role of the Court Section is to accept the initial filing of cases, record all instruments filed in each case, make them available to the court as required, and to inform the parties of important actions in the case by issuing appropriate process as requested.

Collections Office |
The Johnson County Collections office is responsible for collecting fees such as court costs and fines for misdemeanor cases and traffic cases that are appealed through the Johnson County Courts. All fines and court costs are due at the time of sentencing unless arrangements are made for installment payments. |
