- The record is confidential for the 75 years following the date it is recorded with or otherwise first comes into the possession of a governmental body.
- The DD214 is filed free of charge (Member 4 Copy recommended for filing)

These are only for records filed in Johnson County. If they are filed outside the county, you should contact the Veterans office.
