David Lloyd began his work in the field of administration and management of court records over fourteen years ago in Tarrant County, and has spent the last seven years serving the citizens of Johnson County. He worked his way up through the ranks of the Tarrant County District Clerk’s Office and served as Assistant Family Law Manager for three years before he was duly elected District Clerk of Johnson County in 1998. At that time, David proudly entered into a new era of service to the citizens of Johnson County.
First sworn-in as Johnson County District Clerk in January 1999, David has brought a business-like approach to the office that has resulted in numerous upgraded programs, improved constituent service and savings to the taxpayer.
David has acquired many hours of continuing education in the various aspects of the management of courts and court records. He annually attends conferences sponsored by the University of Texas School of Law, the V.G. Young Institute for County Government, The County and District Clerks Association, The District Court Alliance as well as other various seminars and training events as the opportunities arise. David is committed to staying abreast of issues such as legislation and technology, and how they will impact the function and duties of the District Clerk.
David served as President of Literacy Volunteers of America and is the past chairman of the City & County Division of the Johnson County United Way. He is also a board member of the Johnson County Mental Health and Mental Retardation board and the Salvation Army of Cleburne. In January of 2002, David was appointed to serve on the Legislative Committee of the County & District Clerks’ Association. In this capacity, David helps write and monitor legislation that will affect the District Clerks’ Offices around the State of Texas.
David’s other community interests include his involvement with Habitat for Humanity, Christmas in April, Youth in Government, and the Cleburne Baseball and Softball Association.
David and his wife, Shelby, are the proud parents of two children. They are active in their church where Shelby works as church secretary and David serves as Deacon over the youth program and worship committee.
It takes years of training and experience to become an effective District Clerk. David has taken full advantage of all the knowledge and training he has acquired over the last fourteen years. This experience, along with his positive working relationships with judges, court staff, law enforcement agencies and attorneys, make him uniquely qualified to carry out the duties of this office. He regards his service to the citizens of Johnson County as an honor and privilege and vows to continue his dedication to the integrity and management of this office. |
