Duties |

Under immediate supervision, performs law enforcement work in the protection of life and property in enforcing laws and apprehending violators. Patrols county roads in two-way equipped automobiles; ensures that laws are obeyed, investigates automobile accidents, crimes and disturbances; testifies as witness in court trials and hearings; performs varied criminal identification tasks including surveillance of known violators; apprehends law violators, issues summons; uses firearms and other law enforcement equipment as necessary; maintains accurate records and prepares reports on activities. Administers first aid and participates in rescue activities. Performs other duties as assigned. |

Experience |
|
Prefer one year of law enforcement experience. |
|
Education |
|
High school diploma or GED supplemented by courses in law enforcement. |
|
Special Requirements |
CERTIFIED Peace Officer License.
Applicants for Commissioned Law Enforcement positions must have a notarized TCLEOSE Waiver accompanying their Johnson County Application for Employment. Waivers are available in the Personnel Office and on the Johnson County web site. |
