EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SUMMARY

1. Medical Insurance
–County pays PPO premium for the employee. Employee pays
Premium for eligible dependents. Current monthly premium
structure:
Spouse Only – $544.48, Children Only – $281.44,
Family - $904.38 Premium payments for dependent coverage
are through payroll deductions made twice monthly. Coverage
becomes effective on the first of the month following 60 days of
employment.
2. Dental Insurance -
Participation is voluntary. Employee pays premium. Current
monthly premium structure:

Premiums are deducted once monthly. Coverage becomes
effective on the first of the month following 60 days of
employment.
3. Life and AD&D Insurance
- Basic life coverage - $10,000. County pays premium for the
employee. Dependent insurance and additional insurance for the
employee and dependent is available. Employee pays premium for
dependents and/or additional life, through deduction once
monthly. Basic and Additional Life becomes effective on the
first of the month following 60 days of employment.
4. Paid Holidays - County
offers 12 paid holidays annually.
5. Vacation/Sick Days -
Following successful completion of the 6 month orientation
period, full time employees are eligible for vacation and sick
leave benefits as follows:
Vacation

6.67 hours per month)
1 yr. service 10 days (accrued at 6.67
hours per month)
5 yrs. service 12 days (accrued at
8.00 hours per month)
10 yrs. service 15 days (accrued at
10.0 hours per month)

17 days (accrued at 11.34 hours per month)
20+ yrs. service
20 days (accrued at 13.34 hours per month)
Sick Leave
Accrue 8 hrs. per mo., 96 hrs. per yr., max accrual
720 hrs.
Personal
Days
24 hrs.
per year may be taken as personal time for funerals, doctor's
appointments, etc.
6. Bonus Vacation Days - If
no sick time is used over the period of one year, employees are
awarded 3 paid bonus vacation days (24 hrs.) in addition to
their normal earned
vacation time.
7. Retirement Plan - Plan
is administered by the Texas County and District Retirement
System. Employees contribute 7% of gross earnings each payday,
the County matches this amount. Mandatory participation begins
on first day of employment.
8. Cafeteria and Deferred Compensation
Plans - Various options featuring tax reduction and
tax deferral advantages. Programs offered through Colonial
Insurance and the Nationwide or VALIC organization. Periodic
enrollment periods.
9. Paydays – Employees are
paid every other Friday (bi-weekly). Time goes in 2 weeks after
it is worked. If payday falls on a County recognized holiday,
employees are paid on the preceding workday.
