We were honored with a visit from the Robinson family this morning. We hosted a breakfast in honor of Deputy George Robinson, end of watch 02-11-1971. George's son, daughters, daughter -in-laws and two of his great grand children were in attendance. It is always a treat to spend some time with this awesome family.
Deputy Sheriff George Alvis Robinson
Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Texas
End of Watch: Thursday, February 11, 1971
Deputy George Robinson was killed in a vehicle accident on Hwy 174 near the Blackwood Airport in Cleburne. His patrol car collided with livestock on the roadway as he was responding to an emergency call during the early morning hours.
The collision caused his car to leave the roadway and it came to rest among some other wrecked cars that were being stored adjacent to the roadway, causing his patrol vehicle to be concealed. After Deputy Robinson failed to respond to radio calls other Johnson County Deputies and Cleburne PD Officers were sent to search for him. The accident scene was found several hours later at sunrise by a passing motorist.
George also lost a son in the line of duty, Sergeant Robert Glenwood Robinson who was killed while serving Corsicana PD. May God bless the Robinson family. They have paid a heavy price.
On Monday 1/28/19 at approximately 0215hrs, EGAN FAST STOP located at 5120 CONVEYOR DR CLEBURNE TEXAS alerted JCSO dispatch of an alarm call at business. After deputies arrival, a preliminary investigation found the business had been burglarized after their normal hours of operation. Review of the surveillance video found two unknown males covered from head to toe entering the business through the north side by way of forced entry through a window. JCSO believes based on photos and video that the tool used to make entry was a sledge hammer. The vehicle involved is believed by investigators to be a 2007 -2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA pewter or champagne in color.

Tip-A-Cop was a huge success! It was great to meet so many wonderful people from our community. A huge thank you to Grumps in Cleburne for letting the Sheriffs Association hold it’s event at their restaurant. Check out some of the photos from last night.
We have been getting some calls about a new scam going around. Apparently someone is pretending to be a part of the "Johnson County Wise eyes" program and asking people for payment.
First, there is no more Johnson County Wise eyes program. it was dismantled 2 years ago. We have found it better to reach our residents though the use of Facebook.
Secondly, at no time was the use of wise eyes dependent on payments from the public. We have not and will not ask you for money.
If you get a phone call or a letter from someone who claims to be apart of Johnson County Wise eyes, please feel free to ignore them. If you feel you have more questions, please contact us and we will be happy to set your mind at ease.
