Don't be discouraged!!! We are taking applications for the Fall 2018 Class!!! No start date has been set at this time for the Fall course, however they will be held every Tuesday evening at the same time as the Spring course.

What is a Citizens Police Academy?
The Johnson County Sheriffs Office conducts the Citizens Police Academy to provide an inside look at local law enforcement. Those who complete the program will leave with a better understanding of how Sheriff’s Deputies perform their duties and how the Sheriff’s Office serves the County. The academy is free and is Offered twice a year. It consists of 14 classes held on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 930 p.m. In addition, there are two Saturday classes held from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Most Classes will be held at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, located at 1102 E. Kilpatrick in Cleburne TX. While at the Sheriff’s Office classes will be held in a lecture-style setting. Participants will receive hands-on instruction from veteran officers on communications, patrol procedures, tactical operations, and criminal investigations. Participants also will learn about firearms safety and operation of patrol rifle.
Participant Requirements
Applicants must be 21 or older, and live or work in Johnson County.
A criminal background check will be conducted.
