Wardville Site

The first County Seat in Johnson County at Wardville was named for Col. Thomas Ward. He was a veteran of the Texas revolution and headed the first General Land office. The original 16’ x 16’ log courthouse can be seen at the Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum in Cleburne.
