Livestock Marks & Brands
Texas Agriculture Code § 144.044 requires livestock owners to renew and re-record their Marks and Brands with the County Clerk in the county (or counties) where their livestock are located during a six-month renewal period that occurs every 10 years following the application's expiration date.
- All Marks and Brands recorded on or after August 31, 2011 expired on August 30, 2021
Information Required to Record the Marks and Brand Application
- Verification that the mark or brand chosen is not presently owned
**It is the responsibility of the livestock owner to research the current Marks and Brands**
- Upon verification, a completed Marks and Brand Application
- Payment in full
All Marks and Brands registered and recorded on or after August 31, 2021 will be valid until August 30, 2031
Once the Application has been recorded, a Certificate of Registration will be returned to the owner, and a copy will be sent to the Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) within 30 days.
